Mentor Chippewa scholarship opportunities include:
- Carol Gienapp Memorial Scholarship, is named in memory of Carol Gienapp, the first Director of the mentor program.
- Alice Hagen Scholarship, is named in honor of Alice Hagen, a Chippewa Falls graduate and long-time supporter of the mentor program.
Application Checklist:
- Complete the application form (below)
- Submit two letters of recommendation (from an adult, non-family member)
- The letter of recommendation should clearly identify:
- student applicant’s first + last name
- the relationship the reference has to the student applicant (mentor, teacher, employer, clergy member, neighbor, or another adult)
- should speak to the student applicant’s character, commitment, and potential for success in their chosen academic area of interest
- Letters of recommendation can be emailed or mailed – postmarked/dated no later than 4:00 pm, Friday, March 15th, 2023 to:

- Selection:
- Mentor Chippewa will choose the award recipient(s) from those who have submitted completed application materials as outlined in the eligibility criteria above.
- Presentation:
- The recipient will receive a certificate.
- Award Payment:
- Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to your 2- or 4-year school, or institution issuing your certificate program’s financial aid office upon Mentor Chippewa’s receipt of a copy of your current year/semester transcript to verify:
- proof of enrollment; &
- a minimum 2.0 GPA
- awardees will have until May 31st of the following year to notify the Mentor Chippewa program if they would like to request a one-year, one-time-only deferment of their scholarship award. If we do not hear from you by May 31st, you will forfeit your scholarship.
- Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to your 2- or 4-year school, or institution issuing your certificate program’s financial aid office upon Mentor Chippewa’s receipt of a copy of your current year/semester transcript to verify:
- Copies of your currently completed fall/spring/summer semester transcript can be emailed or mailed – postmarked/dated no later than May 31st to:
